The Clinical Trials Unit of the Hospital Clínico de Valencia was created in 2004 and developes leading clinical trials in oncological research. It actively collaborates with the world’s best hospitals in cancer treatment such as Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MD Anderson in Houston, Vall d’Hebron Hospital in Barcelona or the University of Colorado. At these projects, with an international focus, also include leading pharmaceutical biotechnology companies such as Millenium Pharmaceuticals (Boston), Genentech (San Francisco) and Intellikine Inc. (La Jolla).
The unit has around 400m2 as Day Hospital, which consists of a treatment room with 5 armchairs, 2 beds and an adapted bathroom, 2 medical and nursing appointments and a reception and waiting area for patients. There are also rooms for the monitors of the trials, meeting rooms and for storage and archiving.
In addition to the oncologists of the hospital and medical on-call, there are more staff like three research nurses, one administrator and one data manager.
