InDeST, one of the CIBER-ONC groups

The Institute of Health Carlos III (ISCIII) has increased the number of Centers for Biomedical Research in Network (CIBER) that existed until now, creating three new CIBER in the areas of: Cancer (CIBER-ONC), Cardiovascular Diseases (CIBER -CV) and Fragility and Healthy Aging (CIBER-FES).

CIBER-ONC was set up at the end of 2016 and integrates 50 multidisciplinary groups from all over Spain and has been organized into six research programs:
Colon and digestive tract cancer; Breast cancer: Lung cancer; Hematological tumors; Tumors of low prevalence and Molecular mechanisms of tumor progression.
The director of CIBER-ONC is Dr. Joaquín Arribas, researcher at the Oncology Institute of Vall d’Hebron, and the budget for the area of ​​Oncology amounts to € 3,735,000.
The group of Dr. Cervantes (InDeST) has become part of this selected group of cancer researchers, which have been selected based on an assessment of the merits of the group.
